In the first ever "Midnight Hit" at Covington's Smith Field, the Buccs finally got to release some bottled up energy as the clock struck midnight under the bright lights.
In front of nearly 200 Buccaneer fans, the Buccs took to the field at 10:30 pm for team and individual drills. All the while the scoreboard clock ticked down to the official time high school teams across the state were permitted full contact.
The first live contact drill consisted of a ball carrier attempting to score in a goal line situation with two blockers leading the way. Then the Buccs went through a live scrimmage consisting of six series of live go.
