In this, the fourth season of Covington football, the Buccaneers recorded their third straight winning season with six wins and three losses. With talented players returning next season, the Buccaneers' streak of winning seasons should continue.

With first year coach, Paul Devine, Covington once again opened the season with a win over Maria Stein St. Johns, 19-8. It is the third year in a row that St. Johns has fallen to the Buccs in the season opener.

Eaton duplicated last year's accomplishment by defeating Covington, 26-6 in week two. The Buccs have only managed one win over Eaton in their last four tries.

Covington won its next three contests against Minster 18-9, Ansonia 31-7, and Versailles 6-0 to get back on track.

But, West Milton again proved to be a tough team to beat as they handed Covington a 21-13 defeat on Dad's Night. It was the fourth straight year the Buccs have fallen to West Milton.

After a 33-6 win over Bradford, the Buccs lost their first game ever to Piqua Catholic 19-0.

That would be the final defeat Covington suffered as the Buccaneers defeated West Carrollton in a high-scoring affair on Homecoming, 38-17.

It has been the custom here to dedicate one football game to the Dads of the football players. This year on October 20th we honored the Dads at the game with West Milton.

The band put on a very fine marching performance. They formed the words Dad's, a rocking chair, a slipper, and a dollar sign.

Other football honorary games were the homecoming game against West Carrollton and the game honoring the alumni.
